MHEP Projects and Programs
December School Holiday Activities - Wallumbilla, Yuleba & Noonga Students from Wallumbilla, Yuleba & Noonga participated in the December School Holiday activites. Activities included Bluelight disco, wet & wild fun, christmas cooking, arts & crafts & movie night.
Healthy X'mas Extravaganza MHEP hosted a Healthy Christmas Extraaganzer to help raise awareness of healthy alternatives or the festive season. The night consisted of Healthy cooking demonstrations, activities for the kids. reading bug visit and library pack launch, Live entertainment, markets/stalls, service providers pamphlets packs, visit from santa and information on health isues such as smoking, farm injury, nutrition, exercise, sun safety and healthy menu cards.
Noonga Laser Skirmash Approximately 80 children & adults attended the Noonga Laser Skirmash & Blue light Disco on the 1st oct. A healthy dinner was catered for the children by the Noonga Community, while students also won prizes whilst dancing at the Blue Light disco & playing games. 40 students participated in the laser skirmash
Seniors Day (Jackson) Seniors from Yuleba, Wallumbilla & Jackson enjoyed a day out in Jackson for a Seniors Day. Shirley Hart entertained the seniors with Mind games, Memory Games and Relaxation techniques. A great day was had by all.
Cobb & Co Trail Ride MHEP Supported the Cobb and Co Trail Ride on the 31st September & 1st October. Health Bags and prizes were handed to families on registration which covered topics such as Farm Injury, Smoking, Depression & Nutrition.
Bendemere Reading Bug On the 2nd Aug. the Bendemere Reading bug visited Yuleba State School to share stories with the students. Students enjoyed porta bowls after with the Reading Bug. On the 4th Aug. the Bendemere Reading bug also visited the Wallumbilla Playgroup. Children under 5 participated in song & dance and all received stickers & a book to take home.
A Bush Dance was held in Yuleba on the 9th July to encourage physical activity and to learn dancing skills. approx. 60 parents and students attended the night. Thoughly enjoying the Peter Dixon Band who travelled from Sydney. Healthy BBQ options were provided on the night.
June/July Holiday Activities June/July School Holidays were packed with fun activities in Yuleba, Wallumbilla & Noonga. Activities included Yuleba Amazing Race, kite Making, Laser Skirmish & a Fun Day at Noonga. 100+ students & parents participated at the Noonga fun day, playing tennis, ping pong, art & craft station, soccer & jumping castle. The pinnacle & much more. Kids Club was also run at the Blue Light Shed in Yuleba every morning.
